The South Lyon County Medical Center Facility Management project included a complete assessment of this 28,000 s.f. rural medical center. We developed and applied a FM (facility management) System to immediately gain control of the facility and to plan for its phased renewal. Original drawings for the five phases of construction were cataloged and archived. CADD as-built drawings including the phases of construction and current uses were created and provided to the owners for their use. Every surface and system was inspected. Seventeen pages of deficiencies were recorded. A Facility Management System was created to evaluate, prioritize, organize and fund seven facility renewal projects. The owners have regained control of their facility with better information, facility management tools and a plan for the future.
