This welding shop addition project was designed directly for the State of Nevada Department of Transportation in 1993. The purpose of the welding shop is to repair and maintain snow plow trucks and sand spreading equipment. It encompased an approximately 2700 SF addition to an approximately 6000 SF existing welding shop.

The end of the building was extended some 30' as were the existing overhead cranes. Additional power and special in floor steel rails were added to the new section.

Exhaust and welding were a consideration in this specialized addition. Two issues that became important were traffic flow and pavement grading. The addition caused a narrowing between buildings where heavy trucks move, and caused steeper slopes to match with existing pavement.
